Sorry about the month gap. Honestly, there's really nothing new going on. No live events planned in the near future. Me and my business partner Billy Coore are talking about doing a show about 90s television once a month and Billy is thinking about doing his own show on Rockin WAVES so we will see where it goes with time :) But other than that, working hard in school and just keeping up. Big Shows To Close Out The Year

Hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year! We certainly are! Well, right now we have some news to let yall know about.

On December 29th and 30th, we have the Top 100 of 1964, 1969, 1975, and 1980! On the 29th, we have 1964 and 1969. On the 30th we have 1975 and 1980.

Then on December 31st, we will have our 2nd Annual Rockin WAVES 11294 Rockin New Years Eve! It will start at 3 PM so be sure and tune in for that!

I've been thinking what has made Rockin WAVES 11294 so popular? And I think the reason for that is a number of things which I will address here.

1) Our broadcast schedule: We only broadcast 1-2 times a week while other internet radio stations broadcast 24/7 with DJ's doing their show everyday, and some people are like oh we can miss one day no problem! But with Rockin WAVES 11294, with us only broadcasting 1-2 times a week, we keep bringing people back because they don't want to miss a show, and the fact that this is their only chance in the whole week to listen to Rockin WAVES LIVE so I think our broadcasting schedule is a key factor to our success.

2) The people: The people that come to the show are the best. You know how Waffle House has it's regulars? Well, here at Rockin WAVES 11294 we have our regulars who keep coming back week after week to see what is up with Rockin WAVES and to hear some awesome music. And the new people that come are awesome as well, I really enjoy them coming to BlogTV and discovering the show.

3) The music we play: We really don't have a set format but I guess you can say we play a lot of oldies. The reason for that is, well, I grew up listening to oldies whether it was in the car on the radio or in my room on CDs and on the computer, oldies is pretty much the only clean music you will hear today (music from 50s-90s qualifies as oldies).

4) DJ's: We really only have 1 DJ (that's me). Although, we do have fill-in DJ's who are just the best and I've listened to their shows especially when I went on vacation back in 2010 and was gone for over 2 weeks, I listened to the fill-in's shows and they were just phenominal.

5) The planning: You may not realize it but there is a lot of planning that goes into the show. We spend about a week from the time the show goes off the air till the show goes on the air the next week, we spend as much time as we can spare, planning the show and deciding what to play and when to play it and sometimes we have our mistakes but we learn from them and we make the show even better!

Well, that's about it, our 5 reasons why Rockin WAVES in my opinion has been successful the past 3 1/2 years. I bet the next 3 1/2 years will be special and memorable! Also, don't forget the Rockin WAVES 11294 Awards is coming soon! Be sure and keep checking back for details, including the nominees!

Christmas Season

Well, we are heading into the holiday season on Rockin WAVES 11294. Halloween was basically our kickstart to our biggest part of the year! We got a lot of big things coming up! Some of the events include, the Sunday after Thanksgiving, we are kicking off holiday programming with a special Christmas show, also we are planning a Thanksgiving show the Friday before Thanksgiving, hope everyone is having a great November and keep on rockin everyone!

Quick Update

Well ladies and gentlemen,
This has really been a roller coaster ride of a month. October was both a good and bad month. Let's just say October 12th, 2011 will be a day that I will remember for a long time and it's because on that day, I lost my dog of 15 years, she had to be put to sleep that day and I was really upset then I was barely able to do shows that week. But through it all, I got to say I am truly blessed to have the best group of friends in the entire world! They helped me through it and I care alot about all of the gang. Just wanted to let you know that I love you guys! :)

All right, ON TO THE UPDATE!

One of the reasons I called you all here, is because I have a special announcement: We will be returning for our 4th Holiday of Rockin! Rockin WAVES 11294 will be kicking off our Christmas Programming on November 27th at around 9 PM-ish or so with a special showing of A Garfield's Christmas from 1997 and will be showing the original commercials. Rockin WAVES 11294 Update

Well here is the October Update!

Things are going really great with the station. We have pretty much a full "staff" although I don't refer to them as a staff, I refer to them as my good friends (pretty much best friends) :). Here's the full staff as of now (if I leave anyone off let me know and if you are on the staff I'll add you to the post):

President/Main DJ/Website Moderator - Chris Rogers
Vice President/Fill-In DJ/Christmas DJ - Carolinacircle89 (Billy)
Bouncers - Marlagoesrawr (Marla), Mistressleelee(Leelee), kittiecorpses09 (Britney)
Manager - beeindahouse (Bee)
DJ In Training - rockstarradio11 (Charlie)

Like I said, if I left anyone out, let me know and I'll make edits to this post to make it correct. There are people though that have lost their position due to one of the following:
1) Got banned from my show
2) Pissed me off to the point to where they got banned from my show.

So as long as you don't do those 2 things, you get to keep your position :)

I will say this, the person thats been a position the longest, is beeindahouse (my Manager) she became my manager back in June of 2010.

Billy was next to receive a position on the Rockin WAVES Team. He's pretty much my second wing man :) He's always there to help me out with problems whenever needed and has always been willing to help out whenever he can. Around July of 2010, when I was out of town that whole month almost, he stepped in and filled in for me on the Friday shows and kept Rockin WAVES alive :) He has really helped out in keeping Rockin WAVES 11294 going and I'm proud of have him not only as my second-hand man but also one of my best friends :)

Next up, I needed bouncers to help out with kicking people when they were being idiots. There was one person who I'm not going to mention that was my bouncer first BUT after a while, she started abusing her power and was trying to tell me how to run my show. SO I had to fire her and ban her from the show and she is still banned to this day (after a few times being unbanned). Since then, I got more reliable bouncers who are very good at what they do. Mistressleelee has been the longest bouncer and is pretty much the head bouncer of the group. Marlagoesrawr is another bouncer who is also a very good friend of mine and is also very good at what she does. Kittiecorpses09 is my newest bouncer and she comes to my show when she can and helps the other bouncers out as well. Very proud to have them on the team as well :)

Finally, I have my DJ-In-Training, rockstarradio11. This guy started coming to my show during our Summer of Rockin 2011 and started coming everytime I was broadcasting. He also told me that I was his inspiration to get into radio and DJing. He is very into wanting to learn everything there is to know about broadcasting and so that made him my DJ-In-Training and he is now a part of the Rockin WAVES Family.

So that is how all those positions came to be and the people who hold those positions. Those people that you see listed above, I think very highly of, they are pretty much my best people in the show and I am proud to see them come to the shows every week. If it wasn't for them, I probably wouldn't be where I am today.

Well, that does it for the October update. Not much going on still. We really don't get rolling until around November. Our Halloween show is pretty much our kickoff to our biggest season.

We officially have a DJ for the holidays! Besides me bringing you the best holiday tunes, our good friend Billy Coore a.k.a. carolinacircle89 will be hosting his own Christmas show on Rockin WAVES 11294. Also, recently I took everyone's perma ops away because we had too many perma ops who didn't come in the show anymore and so I took away everyone's perma ops and only regranting them to people I TRUST. You can't ask for them, it doesn't matter if you come in the show alot, you have to earn my trust in order to get perma ops. Well, that's all for the updates right now, not much going on right now. Since the last post. Well, here's what I remember about 9/11:

I was in 7th grade, in Social Studies class, when the teacher left the room and he was told that there is some breaking news on Channel 5 (our NBC Affiliate). So our teacher turned it on and I remember seeing the Pentagon and the World Trade Center. And I remembered seeing the South Tower collapse. But I really didn't grapse what happened until later that day when my mom picked me up from school. She told me what happened and that's when it sunk in. I remember that day at school, people being dismissed like crazy and I was wondering what was going on there must be a lot of people sick that day. But that night I remember going out to eat with my mom because we originally planned on doing that that night. I remember not wanting to, and I remember my mom telling me something that I will remember forever: Don't let the terrorist win. We went out to eat and I remember going to church that evening for a special service. We lit candles and prayed. I remember a few days later, the President saying to go outside at 7 PM and light a candle. The patriotism that was shown that day on 9/11 is something that I will remember forever. 10 years later it's still fresh in my mind. 9/11/01, Never Forget.

All right, it seems that this Friday instead of being on air for the full 4 hours, it seems that I have a production practicum meeting that I HAVE to attend on Friday at 2 PM. SO this may put a damper in the way the show will be BUT I have a solution!

While I'm gone, I'll try and have a cohost up the whole time I'm gone that way yall wont have to keep staring at a still image of the logo. In the meantime here's a possible rundown:

1:00 PM - Hit the airwaves, intro
1:04 PM - 1:15 PM - News
1:15-1:20 PM - Commercial
1:20 PM - 1:22 PM - Weather
1:22 PM - Hit the music
3:45 PM - Survey Show
5:00 PM - Get off air.

Well, after a great summer (and a record breaking one at that!) It's about time for us to bid a farewell to The Summer of Rockin 2011! BUT we won't just say goodbye and that be it. We are really going to bring Summer of Rockin 2011 to a close IN STYLE!!!! Here's the schedule of events for the last week:

Tuesday, August 9th - The final Survey Show Tuesday (Come by and experience the survey show one last time before it moves back to the Friday show)

Well, we are looking at a couple of possible dates to end the Summer of Rockin (Which if you ask me has pretty much been our most successful summer thus far)

Here are our possible dates:
August 10th - The Midweek Surfer's Special and end it that day because I'll be moving back to the apartment the day after.

August 12th - The Chris Rogers Friday Show. Maybe end it that day after the main big show of the week.

August 13th - The Saturday Night Late Night Show. End it after the first Saturday Night Late Night Show back.

August 14th - Sunday. Have one big last blowout of a show! Possible all day show.

Well, not much to report. We raised $56 dollars during the 12 hour marathon so we were able to save 1 animal :) Thanks so much to all who donated. Well, tomorrow I will be doing my 2nd 12 Hour Marathon! This time it will be for charity! Tomorrow beginning at noon, I'll be doing a 12 hour marathon to raise money for B.A.R.C. (Boon Animal Rescue Club) which is based out of Orlando, Florida. They are raising money to help get animals out of animal control and into animal rescue and homes. I will be doing the 12 hour marathon from 12 Noon tomorrow till Midnight and then right after my marathon ends, my friend, Marlagoesrawr will do a 24 hour marathon immediately following my marathon. Man it's been a busy week but also very blessed week. This past week, I went into business with my good friend Billy Coore and we started our own video tape trading business (http://chrisbillyvideotrades.blogspot.com) and its a pretty big week the next two weeks for Rockin WAVES 11294. This week will be normal shows but next week there may be a day or two that I might have to miss for private reasons but it will be to plan for something big that will be happening Friday and Saturday. I can't spill details except to tell yall to tune in on Friday, June 17th at 1 PM for the show because there will be a special theme to the music that gets played, and stay with the show because at 3 PM I will be telling yall to head over to another show and the other show, you will see something that you haven't seen in many years...That's all I'm saying about that. Well, for all of our listeners in the U.S., hope you have a great Memorial Day and remember to honor our troops and thank them for fighting to protect our freedom that we sometimes take for granted. For everyone else around the world that might not celebrate Memorial Day, well it's Monday tomorrow. However, I won't be doing Rockin Out on the Beach Mondays because I will be observing Memorial Day so we will be back on Tuesday with the premiere of Survey Show Tuesdays. A new thing that we are trying out. For now until the end of the summer, we will be doing the weekly survey show on Tuesdays instead of Fridays for the rest of the summer. NEW PROGRAMMING CHANGES!!!

All right, there's some programming changes on the weekdays. Twin Spin Tuesdays is not going to be anymore. I decided to give the Survey Show its own day!

So Tuesdays will now be The Survey Show

Also Wednesdays, instead of just top 40 music every week, we will be having a different genre of music each week.

Just Tuesdays will now be The Survey Show and on Wednesday it will be a different genre each week for the Midweek Surfer's Special.

BIG DAY!!!

WOW! We are still live and already we have had so much happen!

Well, pretty much immediately after going live, we were featured again! Had close to 400 viewers and then the feed failed and lost the featured slot. Oh well. Pics to come later!

Also, the biggest thing to happen today,

Two of our listeners got engaged today live on the air! Serpico875 and BRANDIEWINE08 have been dating for a few months and today, they got engaged live on Rockin WAVES 11294! Big congrats to the both of them. If you want to see video of Serpico875 popping the question to BRANDIEWINE08, head over to the BlogTV page and check it out. Hopefully, BlogTV posted the video to the profile otherwise I will be ultrapissed lol.

Well, don't forget, there will be no show on Thursday, Friday or Monday due to me being out of town. But on Friday, good friend Carolinacircle89 will be playing the survey show for this week since I will be out of town.

Summer of Rockin Schedule

I've come up with sort of a schedule for each day of programming for the Summer of Rockin 2011. Please know that this schedule can change at any time so please keep checking back for updates.

Monday - Rockin Out on the Beach (Basically, summer songs to keep yall rockin!)
Tuesday - Twin Spin Tuesday (We will try and play 2 songs by the same artist in a row)
Wednesday - Midweek Surfing Special (Current Top 40 songs and some that are current but are also not current)
Thursday - Wipeout Thursday (Take a step back in time and enjoy oldies music!)
Friday - The Chris Rogers Show (The normal wackiness you expect on Fridays)

Like I said, this schedule is subject to change.

UPDATE! Also, I've decided to go ahead and do a show this Friday since I missed last week's show I want to try and avoid a 2 week absence if I can keep from it. Also, on May 19th-May 22nd (or 23rd the return date TBA) there will not be any shows on Rockin WAVES because I will be out of town for family stuff.

Also, even though we are done with the Saturday Night Late Night Show right now we are not done with it for good. We will be coming back for 2 weeks, June 18th and 25th we will be doing the Saturday Night Late Night Show and then after June 25th we will be taking our summer vacation from the Late Night Show.

Well, that about does it for the update. With it being summer there will definitely be a lot more updates to come so stay tuned!

Wow. A few weeks since the previous update. Time flies! Well, the reason for lack of updates at this time is because, things have gotten busy! Final Exams are this week so im dealing with those. Also, this Friday we will not be doing a show because I'll be spending that day decompressing from finals and from the semester. We will resume shows next week when we kick off Summer of Rockin. Yes, that's the name I'm going with, deal with it! lol. Well, keep on Rockin everybody!

Rockin WAVES 11294 UPDATE

Well, after the anniversary show last week, pretty much the whole next week I was hard at work getting the Nick Tribute Show ready to go that I pretty much forgot about the blog (but I remembered so I'm back at it now). The Nick Tribute show was pretty much the best one we've done yet! We had no problems with BlogTV (can you believe that?) or Stickam. Well, time to get off here and get planning next week's show. As I'm writing this I just found out that Elizabeth Edwards has passed away. My prayers and condolences (however you spell the frickin word) go out to her family. Well, onto the update!

Rockin WAVES 11294 is rockin' out to it's 3rd Holiday season on the air! We have many cool ideas for the holidays that we are doing right now on the air.

Time for another update

Well, I'm at a new school now and in an apartment! That means new opportunities for Rockin WAVES 11294. Man, I've said on the air and to close friends that 2010 is the best year that we've had for Rockin WAVES and it really has been a great year so far! We've made so many new friends and we even have other DJ's on the air now! Be sure and listen for Billy Coore on Rockin WAVES whenever I'm not able to do a Friday show, expect him to fill in when he can. Also, we are doing a new show every Saturday night, me and Billy go on BlogTV every Saturday Night around 10 PM and do The Saturday Night Late Night Show where we basically just have fun and cut up and it's just a real good time :) I still have some other programming ideas for the future so stay tuned to this blog because I am going to try and update this more often now. Well, keep checking back for future updates and keep on rockin!

An Update

WOW! Over a year since the last post! SOrry about the lack of updates, I don't really have that much time anymore for updating a lot of things unless I'm visiting the sites everyday (which unfortunately I dont visit this one everyday). Well, we have a major following now on BlogTV we are averaging around 25-30 viewers a week and we have around 130 subscribers to the show. Also, we no longer broadcast on Ubroadcast.com. Because of some decisions that were made by UBroadcast I didnt agree with some of the things they are doing so I pretty much deleted my channel on there and am having no more association with those losers. Ubroadcast.com is pretty much going to go bankrupt is how I see their future. Now, I'm just on BlogTV. Here's the address:

I received some broadcasting equipment from Behringer and the equipment works really good and I was able to eliminate all the static and the show is much much better now. So hopefully we'll have more posts

Well, again, sorry about the delay and gap in blog postings I have been uber busy with the holidays and the radio station and with school starting back tomorrow. I'm gonna be even more busy! Well, there are a few updates:

FIRST OFF...If you haven't been able to get onto the ubroadcast player, it is because Ubroadcast has been having major problems and their servers are down, I mean the manager, player, and Ubroadcast TV is out. They are currently working on a fix and they said they should be back up as soon as possible (whenever that may be who knows).

SECOND...The Chris Rogers Show is moving again. Because of my school schedule we are moving to once a week and we will be broadcasting Fridays from 12:00PM - 5:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time).

THIRD...I am doing Vlogs again on YouTube so go to:

And you'll see my videos, if you have a YouTube account, please feel free to subscribe to my vids. Your subscription will be appreciated. Plus, subscribers are what keeps me motivated to keep doing these Vlogs. Right now, I have 10 subscribers.

Well, things are looking great with the station so far. However it looks like we're gonna have to move the startup date to Thursday, December 11th, due to final exams at school. We have the first week or so of the playlists all lined up so we're good. We're still a little skeptical about whether to do a New Year's Eve Show or not since I usually spend that time with family and doing other things as well. But we are right now in the works of setting up a date to do a remote with the local band Powersville so keep checking back for more updates on that and other updates as well. That's all for now!

Well, after taking the weekend off, it's time for some more news from Rockin WAVES 11294. We are still adding stuff and coming up with more ideas for the show which as yall know already is set to come back on December 8th. We still haven't come up with a time though, but we still have a little less than 2 months to come up with a time right now, the way my schedule is with school, we may even have to move the date of the premiere. But anyways, on to more update:
We have decided that after NBC airs The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (joke) we will start adding Christmas music to the playlist so it'll be mixed in with the automated stuff and we're also gonna then take off alot of the regular music because since we'll be coming back, we don't want yall to get tired of the music before we premiere so we're gonna reduce the automated playlist drastically before the premiere because right now we have, well, A LOT! and we're probably gonna reduce the playlist to about 75 songs and then add the Christmas songs after thanksgiving and then add more regular music back into the playlist after the New Year. So don't worry, we won't be alot like those other radio stations that when the holiday comes, they go all Christmas music, we'll still be playing some regular music but we will also play a lot of Christmas music as well. Well, that does it all for this update, thanks to everyone who follows the blog and continue to view it and reccomend it to your friends! And more updates will follow!

All right, we added some more songs to the lineup on the station, we're still all automated on Rockin WAVES 11294 but we are currently coming up with some preview shows before the official "relaunch" date of December 8th. We are hoping to do some special shows around the end of this month, but Thanksgiving will be out of the question because of the fact that I'll be studying hard for Final Exams so probably by the end of the month we'll probably do a live show as a preview of our return. Also, we are already working on a possible New Years Eve show to ring in the new year so be on the lookout for updates on that. Also, Blogger has recently flagged my blog as a possible "spam blog" but thankfully they apologized and unblocked it (hopefully). Just to let everyone know, I would never post Spam on here so trust me on this when I say I won't post Spam I won't post Spam. We have chosen December 8, 2008 as the official "relaunch" date for Rockin WAVES 11294, hopefully by then we'll be able to login to the station manager and our account still be there! lol.
